Identity Solutions Engineer: Okta Workforce

Job Description

An Identity Solutions Engineer is a senior technical consultant within Alchemy Technology Group who designs and delivers Identity and Access Management (IAM) services for customers. This role leads discovery, architecture, implementation guidance, and hands-on delivery across identity platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned to business outcomes. The role is accountable for reinforcing the Alchemy mission of transformative disruption in both theory and practice through high-quality client delivery.

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead identity consulting engagements from discovery through delivery, aligning scope, requirements, and success criteria with client stakeholders.
• Conduct current-state assessments and gap analyses across identity lifecycle, authentication, authorization, privileged access, and directory services.
• Translate business and security requirements into target-state IAM/IGA/CIAM architectures, including integration patterns and identity data flows.
• Produce delivery artifacts such as architecture diagrams, implementation plans, configuration standards, runbooks, and operational handoff documentation.
• Implement and/or lead implementation of IAM solutions (e.g., Entra ID/Azure AD, Okta, etc.), including integrations with applications, directories, and infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership during delivery, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, security hardening, and guidance on identity governance and controls.
• Maintain current expertise in identity technologies and standards, pursue relevant certifications, and contribute to reusable delivery accelerators and consulting best practices.

Qualifications and Education

To complete the profile as an Identity Solution Engineer focused on consulting delivery, the following qualifications are required:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the IT industry, with a focus on identity consulting, solution delivery, or implementation architecture roles. Experience working in a professional services or value-added reseller (VAR) environment is strongly preferred.
• Technical Skills: The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the following areas:
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM): Proficiency in IAM concepts and solutions is important. This includes knowledge of modern authentication mechanisms, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), identity federation, directory services (such as Active Directory), and privileged access management (PAM).
  • Solid knowledge of IAM products and vendors in the market, such as Microsoft, Okta, BeyondTrust, SailPoint, CyberArk, Ping Identity, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of Customer Identity and Access Management products and vendors in the market, such as Okta CIAM/CIC, Auth0, Ping Identity, ForgeRock, etc.
  • Strong understanding of modern authentication protocols.
  • Certifications required include:
    • Okta Certified Professional
    • Okta Certified Administrator
  • Additional certifications desired, include:
    • Okta Certified Consultant
• Modern authentication and provisioning standards: SAML, OIDC, OAuth, and SCIM.
• Prior experience with implementing identity technology programs/solutions is preferred.
• Detail oriented with the ability to analyze, explain, and document methodically;
